London Lifts is a specialist lift engineering company serving commercial and residential clients across Greater London. We install, service, repair and inspect passenger lifts, platform lifts and goods lifts, bringing the same technical standards and commitment to compliance to every job whether it is a single LOLER inspection or a multi-floor installation project.
Since we started trading in 2006, we have built our business on straightforward engineering and honest advice. We are proud to hold full membership of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association and to carry LOLER certification across our inspection team.
Our Story
London Lifts was founded in 2006 by a team of engineers who had spent their careers working within large national lift contractors and wanted to build a business that put quality and client service ahead of contract volume targets. Starting with a handful of maintenance contracts in central London, the business has grown steadily by doing reliable work and keeping clients informed.
Today we serve commercial landlords, property management companies, housing associations, local authorities, hotels and retail operators across all 32 London boroughs. Our client relationships are long-term ones: many of the building managers we work with have been clients since our early years. That continuity matters in an industry where the engineer who knows your lift is worth more than any sales promise.
We joined LEIA shortly after founding and have maintained full membership ever since. LEIA membership is our public commitment to operating at industry standards in everything from engineer training to insurance and contractual practice. Find out more about our planned maintenance contracts.
What LEIA Membership Means
LEIA is the Lift and Escalator Industry Association, the principal trade body for the UK lift industry. Full LEIA membership requires businesses to demonstrate that they hold appropriate public liability and employer's liability insurance, employ qualified lift engineers, operate to the LEIA code of practice and meet LEIA's financial standing requirements.
For building owners and facilities managers, selecting a LEIA member provides a baseline assurance that the contractor has been vetted against these criteria. LEIA membership is not a guarantee of quality on its own, but it confirms that the business is operating within the industry's recognised framework rather than outside it.
We participate in LEIA technical working groups and keep our engineers updated on changes to BS EN 81, LOLER guidance and the Machinery Directive so that our work always reflects current standards. Learn more about our LOLER inspection service.
Our Engineering Team
Our engineers are the foundation of everything we do. Each one is a trained lift engineer with experience across multiple lift technologies and manufacturers. Our inspection team members hold the competence required under LOLER 1998 to carry out thorough examinations and issue the statutory written report.
We invest in ongoing training so our engineers stay current with new control technologies, diagnostic tools and safety standards. When you call us, you speak to someone who understands lift engineering, not a generalist technician. That expertise is what allows us to diagnose faults accurately, maintain lifts effectively and give you honest advice about when repair makes sense and when it does not.
